Recent Advances in Stream Ciphers and Hash Functions Workshop

Held At: Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane
26 June - 27 June 2006 (Intensive Short Course)
28 June - 30 June 2006 (Lecture Series)

This workshop is presented by the Information Security Institute (ISI) at QUT, in collaboration with the International Centre of Excellence for Education in Mathematics (ICE-EM) and the Research Network for a Secure Australia (RNSA).

Cryptology is a key technology for ensuring security and privacy in today's Information Society. This workshop will bring together international and national experts to discuss recent developments in two fundamental areas of cryptologic research: stream ciphers and hash functions. Topics will include:

  • Recent cryptanalytic advancement
  • Implementation issues
  • New designs
  • Applications

The workshop is divided into two events:

  • Intensive Short Course. The first two days will be used to bring participants new to the field up to speed. ISI staff will impart the course.
  • Keynote Lecture Series. The last three days will comprise keynote lectures including the following international speakers: Lars Knudsen, Stefan Lucks, Bart Preneel and Josef Pieprzyk.

Participation in the workshop is by application. National and international researchers and postgraduate students as well as industry practitioners are encouraged to attend to one or both events.
